FR-AP1000
Ammonium Polyphosphate (PhaseⅡ) Flame Retardant
Product Description:
FR-AP1000 is a white powder non-halogenated flame retardant based on ammonium polyphosphate (phaseⅡ, APP). This product is produced by a special method, with the average polymerisation degree higher than 1500. It is suitable for a variety of flame retarded applications like intumescent acrylic coating, and etc.
Specifications:
Characteristics | Unit | Target Value |
Appearance | white powder
Chemical Formula | [NH4PO3]n, n >1500
Phosphorus | % (w/w) | min. 30.0 |
Nitrogen | % (w/w) | min. 13.5 |
Solubility in Water | g/100mL | max. 0.5 |
Viscosity | mPa·s | max. 20 |
Water/ Moisture | % (w/w) | max. 0.3 |
pH | 7.0-9.0 | |
Average Particle Size (D50) | μm | 15-25 |
Decomposition Temperature | ℃ | min. 280 |
Benefits:
High degree of polymerisation, 1500 on average.
Excellent flame retardant efficiency due to its catalytic char-forming.
High thermal stability during processing, suitable for more applications and treatment.
Good compatibility with polymers like PP, epoxy resin, the flame retarded materials exhibit good physical and electrical properties
Versatile use with further synergists, such as melamine cyanurate, triazine charring agent
Non-halogenated flame retardant with favourable environment and health profile
Applications:
In polypropylene (PP), a dosage of approx. 26-28% (by wt.) of FR-AP1000 combined with triazine char-forming agent is usually sufficient to obtain the UL 94 V-0 classification (1.6 mm).
FR-AP1000 is also suitable for epoxy resins, or acrylic coating, and the synergistic flame retardant effect is achieved by combined with melamine cyanurate (MCA), or organic phosphinate.
Packing and Handling:
Delivery form:
White powder.
Packing:
FR-AP1000 is packed in paper-plastic bags with polyethylene inliner, 25kg per package.
Storage:
FR-AP1000 must be sealed, stored in a dry and cool place.
