SR-PP106 is a supramolecular polysiloxanes based silicone masterbatch, with polypropylene (PP) as the carrier resin. This specially designed ploysiloxane has good compatibility with PP system, and thanks to its good anchoring effect, the material exhibits durable abrasion resistance while exerting less side effects on physical properties (e.g. Impact resistance, viscosity). SR-PP106 is suitable for applications such as shortening molding cycles, improving processability, reducing the coefficient of friction, enhancing abrasion resistance, and improving hydrophobicity of materials.

Applications:

SR-PP106 is specially developed for polypropylene (PP), such as co-polymer PP, homo-polymer PP, filled PP, and also suited for thermoplastic elastomer (TPE).


In injection molding, a dosage of 0.2-1.0% (by wt.) of SR-PP106 is usually sufficient to reduce torque and die pressure during the extrusion process, and enhance production capacity. De-molding is improved and mold recycle is also shortened thanks to the enhanced filling effect and material fluidity.


SR-PP106 is especially suitable for PP systems such as automotive interior (e.g. instrument panel, centre console, door trim panel). A dosage of 1.5-5.0% (by wt.) of SR-PP106 is usually sufficient to achieve good material properties in terms of excellent abrasion resistance, no precipitation, slightly odor, good appearance (less surface blooming and good glossiness).


In TPE, a dosage of 1.5-5.0% (by wt.) of SR-PP106 is sufficient to reduce its coefficient of friction and to improve abrasion resistance.



Processing:

Pre-drying (e.g. 4h at 110℃) of SR-PP106 is recommended, if even very low moisture content must be avoided.


Care must be taken that SR-PP106 and resin should be well-mixed for both injection molding and plastic modification.



Packing and Handling

Packing:

SR-PP106 is packed in paper-plastic bags with polyethylene inliner, 25kg per package.


Storage:

SR-PP106 should be stored in a dry and cool place, avoid direct sunlight. Partially emptied containers should be carefully resealed after use. It is however usually not necessary to predry the product before use.
