Large-Particle Aluminum Diethylphosphinate Flame Retardant



FR-ADP03 is a flame retardant made from organic aluminum phosphinate that comes in large particles. It is commonly used in engineering plastics such as PA, PBT, and PET, whether they are reinforced with glass fibers or not. The unique particle size of FR-ADP03 helps prevent decomposition during the polymer granulation process, which can be caused by shear. This ensures that the material properties are maintained and the color of the polymer remains stable. Specifically designed for polyamide and high-temperature polyamide, FR-ADP03 is ideal for use in flame retardant glass fiber reinforced polyamide and high-temperature polyamide compounds. When combined with nitrogen-based flame retardants, FR-ADP03 shows a synergistic effect.

Applications:

  • In high-temperature polyamides:

To achieve a UL 94 V-0 classification at thicknesses of 1.6mm and 0.8mm, a dose of 15% to 16% FR-ADP03 is typically required.


  • In glass fiber reinforced PA6 and PA66:

To achieve a UL 94 V-0 classification at a thickness of 0.8mm, a combination of 12% FR-ADP03 and 6% nitrogen-based flame retardant is typically sufficient.


  • Glass Fibre Reinforced PBT

For the compounds to obtain the UL 94 V-0 classification at 1.6 mm thickness, a dose of 10% FR-ADP03 combined with 5% nitrogen-based flame retardant is typically sufficient. The dosage of the flame retardant may vary, subject to the formula and processing conditions.


PACKAGING & STORAGE 

  • Packaged in a paper-plastic composite bag and lined with a plastic bag. 25 kg per package.

  • The product must be sealed, kept dry, dust-free, and cool.
