Non-halogenated Phosphorus-silicon-based Flame Retardant for Polyamide



Product Description

FR-AHP02S is a white powdery non-halogenated flame retardant based on phosphorus and silicon system for polyamide (nylon/ PA). This product achieves its flame retardant effect via a combined gas phase and condensed phase mode of action. FR-AHP02S is developed for high temperature PA, and has excellent compatibility with polymers. It has benefits on low addition amount, less precipitation and mold corrosion during processing in contrast to conventional products based on phosphorus- (P), phosphorus-nitrogen- (P-N), or phosphorus-silicon- (P-Si) systems.


FR-AHP02S is particularly suitable for the used of nylon (glass-fibre reinforced and non-reinforced nylon6 or 66), with excellent mechanical and electrical properties, such as good insulation, good colour stability, and less blooming, and etc., showing a high-potential for PA applications.

Applications:

In the 30% glass fibre (30GF) reinforced nylon 6 or 66, a dosage of 12-13% (by wt.) of FR-AHP02S is usually sufficient to obtain the UL94 V-0 classification (1.6mm), with a notch impact strength higher than 12 kJ/m2.

FR-AHP02S achieves its excellent flame retardant effect via a combined gas phase and condensed phase mode of action, and flame retarded materials exhibit less blooming and appearance defects (flow marks), and less mold deposit.

FR-AHP02S also meets the most efficient flame retardant grade regarding high temperature and high humidity (85 ℃ and 85% humidity) for 1000 hours, without obvious blooming; copper strip corrosion test for 150℃, no obvious discolouration, superior to P-N and P-based system.

FR-AHP02S flame retarded polymers exhibit excellent electrical and physical properties, in terms of high CTI value above 600V, good colourability (particularly suitable for white, whiteness > 92), and low graying probability of injection molding for long term.
