Non-halogenated Phosphorus-nitrogen-based Flame Retardant for Polyamide
Product Description:
FR-AMPS is a non-halogenated flame retardant based on the phosphorus and nitrogen intumescent system for polyamide (nylon/ PA). This product has excellent flame retardant efficiency, good compatibility with polymers, low addition amount, good precipitation and high temperature resistance, as well as the flame retarded materials have good mechanical properties. FR-AMPS is white powder, multiple color solutions would be implemented to enable broader applications of nylon.

Applications:
FR-AMPS has excellent flame retardant effect, especially designed for both use in glass-fibre reinforced and non-reinforced nylon. In the 30% glass fibre reinforced nylon 6 or 66, a dosage of 13-14% (by wt.) of FR-AMPS is usually sufficient to obtain the UL94 V-0 classification (1.6mm), with less addition amount (approx. 1-2%, by wt.) in contrast to conventional phosphorus-nitrogen based products.
FR-AMPS is an acid-base balanced product, achieving its excellent flame retardancy with no decomposition and good appearance of the flame retarded compounds, and less mold scales. The whole system (FR-AMPS + polymer) could pass the test of high temperature and high humidity (85 ℃ and 85% humidity) for 7 days, without obvious blooming/ precipitation.
FR-AMPS flame retarded materials exhibit excellent electrical and physical properties, meeting the most efficient flame retardant grade regarding UL94 V-0; CTI above 550V with low compound density, glow-wire flammability index (GWFI) 960℃. In the 30% glass fibre reinforced nylon 6, a dosage of 16% (by wt.) of FR-AMPS is usually sufficient to obtain the glow-wire ignition temperature (GWIT) 775℃.
