FR-AMPN
Non-halogenated Phosphorus-nitrogen-based Flame Retardant for Polyamide
Product Description:
FR-AMPN is a non-halogenated flame retardant based on the phosphorus and nitrogen intumescent system. This product has excellent flame retardant efficiency,
good compatibility with polymers, high decomposition temperature. The flame retarded materials have good mechanical properties, high whiteness. Multiple color solutions would be implemented to enable broader applications of flame retarded materials.
Specifications:
Characteristics | Unit | Target Value |
Appearance | white powder | |
Phosphorus | % (w/w) | 19.0-21.0 |
Moisture/ Water | % (w/w) | < 0.2 |
2% Decomposition Temperature | ℃ | > 350 |
Average Particle Size (D50) | μm | 20-40 |
Applications:
FR-AMPN has excellent flame retardant effect, especially designed for both use in glass-fibre reinforced and non-reinforced polyamides. In the 30% glass fibre reinforced polyamide 6 or 66, a dosage of 14-15% (by wt.) of FR-AMPN is usually sufficient to obtain the UL94 V-0 classification (1.6mm), with a notch impact strength higher than12 kJ/m2.
FR-AMPN achieves its flame retardancy through intumescence, forming a solid char at the surface of polymer, largely reducing oxygen access and preventing molten materials from dripping. This organic phosphinate-based product has less gas generated and less precipitated during processing, therefore, less appearance defect (e.g. flow mark) and mold deposit in contrast to conventional phosphorus-nitrogen-based flame retardants.
FR-AMPN exhibits excellent electrical and physical properties, in terms of high CTI value above 550V, good colourability (particularly suitable for white), and low graying probability of injection molding for long term.
